Purpose

 Purpose

It’s not your purpose to save your country or your faith  from the aggressor that is determined to destroy it. Countries and civilizations have come together and disappeared over history over and over again. History is nothing if it is not a graveyard of civilisations, faiths or cultures, great and small. It’s not your purpose to save the starving child across the oceans. Millions of kids and adults will die of disease and lack, nevertheless. It’s not your purpose to build the  business or product to change the world. Companies and business have come and gone and the world pulsates and writhes in pain and lonliness evermore. It’s not your purpose

It’s not your purpose to save the environment or the earth from getting destroyed by global warming. If you zoom out, worlds have come together and got destroyed limitlessly in the billions of years of the known Universe, that our counciousness understands. In other words, the Universe is apathetic and ambivalent to whatever you can do to change it in any way. Thats not the game. It never was. You are too inconsequential from the outside looking in.

All you are is a drop of clouded conciousness, not even knowing what you really are or what your relationship to the Universe is.

It is your purpose though to purify that conciousness through whatever means that are available to you. That’s the clarion call because time is short. So short. Soon enough you will be depleted of all energy to even try it. Such is the punishment of time.

In order to emabrk on that journey, you will have to pick a path.. a cause that is so big that it terrifies you. You may have to take up removing poverty and malnutrition and save dying children across the world, inspite of the unlimited odds against your success. You may have to build a business that changes the world, in the best way you know how. You may have to research and write a book that changes people’s thinking. You may have to take up arms against global warming, terrorism, against nations and aggressors that intend to destroy your way of life. You may have to climb mountains that are yet unclimbed. You may have to dig so deep that it scares you. You may have to save your faith or country from destruction like Shivaji and Rana Pratap did. That is Karma yoga.

If you persist you will slowly and surely come face to face with the reality of you. As you continue to plumb the depths of your conciousness for solutions, in turbulent hours of helplessness and desperation and care, the cloudy drop will start clearing up and you will realise that the crystal drop of conciousness that you are, is the mightiest force in the Universe. It is a force enough to bend the Universe. It is the Universe itself.

You may clear it up by dissolving all your impurities in the love and dedication to your god, or even a loved one, like Kabir and Radha did. That is Bhakti Yoga. You will get to the same place. When everything that clouds the drop dissolves away, the ego dissolves away. And you without ego, the I, the cloudiness in the drop are the Universe itself. It is the God, the creator itself.

it may happen that you choose to purify yourself in the hearth of knowledge, of Gyan. Exploring the limitless depths of conciousness one step at a time, walking the razors edge of inner reflection and meditation, each painstaking hour after each painstaking hour, untill you become available to higher realms of awareness. But the path to reaching those higher states of joyful realization is littered with dried up dreams of many who tried half way. Dreams that were crumbled up like papers on which only half the music was written. Those who were faint hearted and applied half measures. The doors remained permanently shut for those.

So while you do not matter any more than a speck of dust among other billions of specks of dust, from the outside looking in, from inside out though you are all Stardust. The Universe and its God spawned you out of itself. Where else would the content of “you” come from. And therefore you can shape the fabric and shape of the Universe in any which way you like, at will.

The journey must start from within though. The purpose and real consequence of it all lies within. The Universe doesn’t need you to fix it. God doesn’t need you to fix the world She created.

They only need you find your way back.
